# Train 4 Ultra

> Adaptive ultramarathon training plans. An athlete enters their race, their
> current fitness and the days they can actually run; Train 4 Ultra builds a
> week-by-week plan and adjusts the nearest three weeks when they review and
> confirm a weekly check-in, using their check-ins and logged training.

Train 4 Ultra is a web application at https://train4ultra.com/ — it is aimed at
runners preparing for distances beyond the marathon — 50K, 50-mile, 100K and
100-mile road and trail races.

## What the plan is built from

The athlete supplies the race name, date, distance and elevation gain, a target
finish time, their current weekly volume and longest recent run, which days of
the week they can train, their preferred long-run day, experience level
(beginner, intermediate or advanced) and maximum heart rate. Course technicality,
aid-station spacing and fuelling carbohydrate targets are set for race-day
strategy. A GPX file of the course can be uploaded to derive the elevation
profile.

## How the plan works

Each plan runs in phases sized to the weeks available: Foundation, Aerobic Base,
Volume Build, Ultra Development, Race Specific, Peak and Taper. Every week has a
distance and elevation target, one long run, and sessions placed only on days
the athlete said they are available, with heart-rate zone guidance per session.

Training adapts through weekly check-ins. The athlete reports fatigue and
average perceived effort. Check-ins and logged training guide adjustments to
the nearest three weeks, which the athlete previews and confirms. Past training
and logged sessions stay as recorded. Sessions are marked completed or skipped,
which produces an adherence score measured against sessions that have already
come due.

Athletes can invite friends to a shared plan and see each other's completed
sessions. The training schedule is shared, while training load is personalized
to each runner's fitness. A race-strategy view produces pacing and fuelling guidance from the
course profile.

## Notes for agents

The public homepages, race pages and guides are readable without JavaScript
or an account. Creating a plan and using the interactive training tools requires
JavaScript. Saving and sharing training data requires a signed-in account; an athlete's plan and training log are private and are not
reachable without their credentials. There is no public API. The
documentation and race pages above are static HTML and are the authoritative readable
description of the product. Use the canonical URLs listed here when citing
the service. Race information is independent of the organizers and should be
checked against the organizer links. Training suggestions do not replace
